"I have loved you with an everlasting love"
Jeremiah 31:3
Have you ever thought about what it means to be loved with an everlasting love? A total love that can never be broken? I sometimes wonder at that. I love my husband. I love my kids. I know I love them completely and I'll never stop loving them, but even the love I feel for them is nothing compared to the love that God feels for me. How is that possible?
"For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb." Psalm 139:13. Even before I was born, God knew me. He created me. He loved me so much that He made me. I cannot create something, no matter how hard I try. I can only use things that He has already created to make new things. But God the creator can create out of love. He created you. He loves you.
"Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." Ephesians 5:1-2. We may not be perfect. We may not be able to create. We may not have the perfect love that God has. But we can be imitators of God. We can walk in love. We can show love to others, just as God has shown us love.
How can you show love to others today?
