Fall Decorating Ideas

Since this weekend marks the unofficial end of summer, I thought I should turn my thoughts toward fall. I am not looking forward to summer ending, but I do love lots of things about fall. The apples, the pumpkins, the leaves. The colors and textures of fall are so warm and inviting. They are what make fall one of my favorite times of year to decorate the house.

I have liked the way the house looked the past couple years, but it has been basically the same thing re-done. This year I need some new ideas. Pinterest to the rescue!  These are a few of my finds.  (You can follow my Pinterest boards here.)

I'm loving these painted pumpkins for my front porch. 




Anything in glass is a winner in my book. These gourds in the apothecary jars would look great on a mantle or as a centerpiece.


Guess what? More glass! What a great idea to use fall nuts in these hurricane candle holders!



I found this on my friend Teri Lynne Underwood's Pinterest page. Her caption on it read "This would be so easy!" She is right. This would be super simple and great in so many areas of the home.

  2. We've been having some very crispy fallish whether that is getting me in the mood for sure!

    Now, I just need to find a way to keep the pesky MN squirrels from nibbling on my pumpkins like last year I'll be on my decorating way!! :)
