Advice Please!!

We are in the process of moving our 3 year old son into his 20 month old brother's room as we transition his room into the nursery when #3 arrives next month. We have bunk beds in there and will eventually separate them when we move #2 out of his crib.

We need some advice on how to move #1 into #2's room with as little disruption as possible for both of them.

Any advice is welcome!!

Kama is a stay-at-home-mom to 2 very active toddler boys and is set to have #3 of unknown gender in October. She is looking forward to delivering this baby at home. She loves sewing, quilting and crafting when she finds a few minutes and isn't dead tired!

  1. I'm not sure, but we're doing the same thing here -- separating, merging, moving -- in anticipation of our fourth child coming home to us (we are adopting). Good luck to you!

  2. We're in a similar boat! I'm due with #3 in a few months. #2 is 16 months and sleeps in our room and often in our bed. Wakes several times at night still. #1 is in a toddler bed in his own room and still wakes at night. Dreading the waking each other up! Looking forward to reading the responses!

  3. I know my girls are at slightly different ages but since we moved Jayme insisted on sharing a room with Carly. We put Carly to bed at her normal time (7:45-8). Throughout the day Jayme has a chance to earn "bonus time" for good behavior, helping out, etc. & uses it doing something with Jason or myself. This starts after Carly goes to bed & at the end of her "bonus time" we take her to their room & tuck her in bed. So far we haven't had any problems. Carly is always asleep & Jayme is usually out within 5 mins. (Only once has Carly popped up & caught us. We dropped down & army crawled out!) This has also cut out on Jayme getting up & down after she goes to bed b/c she doesn't want to wake her sister up! In the mornings they usually wake up about the same time & just talk to each other until I get there. Providing me with a smile as I walk in the room.
    Hang in there!
