Sometimes I sit and wonder why my life is on the track it's on. Even more than that, I wonder about the daily workings of my life. Why do I not make friends easily? Why did I get picked to be the school field trip coordinator just to have to give the job up a year later? Why is it that I have to get up at 5:30 every morning to make my husband breakfast?
I look at these questions and in hindsight, it's pretty simple to see the outcomes. I don't make friends easily, but the ones that I do make friends with, I'm extremely loyal to and will do anything for. They are lasting relationships. Being field trip coordinator allowed me to learn how to plan and carryout larger scale events. I was asked to be in charge of my husband's troop's family group, which includes planning events. I now know why I had that job, it was preparation for my new job. As for getting up at 5:30 every morning, well, I do value my sleep, but I value time with my husband more. Even more than that, I value the uninterrupted quiet time that I now have every morning before my kids wake up. I get to spend time reading my Bible and praying.
Back to Exodus. Do you ever wonder if while God was telling Moses, "The length of each curtain shall be twenty-eight cubits, and the breadth of each curtain four cubits; all the curtains shall be the same size. Five curtains shall be coupled to one another, and the other five curtains shall be coupled to one another." Exodus 26:2-3, if he got bored and wondered why God was giving him such detailed instructions on curtains? While we're going through things, God doesn't always show us the big picture. But He's there, in the details, laying the groundwork for future events. Every detail of my life has brought me to this point, and will bring me to future points that I can only pray about and trust Him to lead me to.
If God is so detailed about curtains, wouldn't He show the same care and detail in my life? How about in your life?

That's a great truth to take from that reading. It's so comforting to know that God cares about every piece, every detail of us!
