I really debated what to write on this post and which pictures to include. Because of the nature of my husband's work, I don't really post pictures of our kids online. SO, unfortunately I can't show you my very favorite pictures of 2009. Since I can't woo you with gorgeous pictures of my sweet kidlets, I thought I would use this opportunity to introduce myself! :)
My husband NP and I met while working as camp counselors at a Christian summer camp during the summer of 2000. This fall they held a reunion for former staff - it was wonderful to be back!
[why does sitting on a horse make one's thighs look ENORMOUS?]
Just a beautiful picture I had to include - these giant water lilies covered a pond near the camp!
I have been blessed to know some fabulous women over the years - this was from a "reunion" with some of my closest friends from college at Cedarville University- we haven't all been together for years! [I'm on the far right, by the way]. I have a Bible degree from Cedarville and have a passion to help women see the beauty and depth of God's Word - and be blown away by the Truth of Who God is!
The women in my life have taught me so much - and one of the reasons I love being a blogger is connecting with more like-minded women of God!

Sometimes I take on ridiculous projects... like canning 72 quarts of applesauce with my mom and sister. This picture was taken around 2am... and boy, were we tired of applesauce!
I'm enjoying (for the most part) the process of learning to be a skilled homemaker - it's a work in progress!
NP and I love working in our "garden"...
...but of course our favorite things "growing" at our house are our two kids. Our daughter AG will be 4 this February, and our son LB will be 2 a week later! AG is all girl - she's rather timid and cautious. LB is our wild child... he'll be a riot when we go exploring this summer!
I'm including this picture strictly because it is amazing!! This is at a botanical garden near my parents - the plans for this huge horse were actually drawn by Leonardo da Vinci, but it was not built until recently. The little tiny thing near the horse's foot is AG.
We live in the midwest where it often looks like this around this time of year - NP and AG built this snow "castle" last year with our recycling bins. AG still talks about it. :)
...but we also drive around and see views like this.
I feel so privileged to be able to fill in for Kama during her maternity leave - I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you!!
Thanks again for allowing me to share with you in the coming weeks! In the meantime, you can follow what I'm up to on www.krististephens.com - I'm blogging my way through God's Word and stopping along the way to discuss motherhood, womanhood, homekeeping, homeschooling, and more!

You're taller than you look on Twitter! :) Thanks for introducing yourself to us! Looking forward to your posts!

ReplyDeleteWhat fun pics, and what a cute "thing" by the horse's hoof! :) These are great glimpses of a full and blessed life. Makes me rejoice with and for you.
ReplyDeleteHi! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a picture of myself on the back of a jet ski, and my thighs look enormous, too. Dunno what it is...
