I decided to clean out the freezer for a few reasons. I'm really trying to get weekly menus with accompanying shopping lists set up that I rotate through. I'm also trying to freeze more meals (so I need space for them). And finally, I put "chicken breasts" on my grocery list every other week and I was pretty sure we don't eat that much chicken. Where could it be?

Look at that, a whole Cheesecake Factory cheesecake that I haven't even opened! Obviously, I need a sweet reward for all that (cold) hard work!

This is a task on my list for February! I hate doing it ... we have THREE freezers. But, I need to do it for the same reasons you had. And now I'm motivated ... though I'm pretty sure there's no cheesecake hidden in any of mine! (Lots of freezer burn though!)
ReplyDeleteYour freezer looks like mine--great, now you've motivated me to add THAT to my January list. :) I'm always a little embarrassed at what I find...I think of the money I spent and either wasted because it sat in the freezer too long, or wasted because I tend to buy the same thing over and over...and it's in the freezer all along! :) It makes me feel better to know that someone way more organized than I am struggles along with me!!!
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a great idea, but I always feel guilty throwing food away! I think my husband looks in the trash and gasps at the waste. Oh well, I guess the cleaner your freezer can be, the more you can see what's there to use it. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThat has got to be one of my least favorite tasks. Groan. Unfortunately, I've never found an entire unopened cheesecake. That would be motivating to clean it out more often.
ReplyDeletewow, great job! I'm continuing my EFTP through Feb so I'm hoping that'll clean out most of my freezers for me! I hate that job! Have a great week!
